There are festivals throughout the year, and crowds of Bhutanese and foreign tourists descend on monasteries and dzongs to witness the ceremonies and lama dances that continue for several days. The tsechu festivals are colourful pageants and important social occassions, with all comers dressed in their finest traditional dress. It is indeed, the showcase of vibrant Bhutanese culture. In 2008, Bhutan will celebrate three major events - 100 yrs of Monarchy, Coronation of the 5th King of Bhutan and the first ever Democratic election will take place. Join us for these historic celebrations.
Bhutan received the silver award from Wanderlust, UK's leading Travel Award. Bhutan stood second after Namibia securing 96.9 percent of the vote out of the 151 countries.
